My second restoration, a 67 SS427

This was only the second restoration I did in my dad's garage and was (I think) around 1979 on a low mileage 67 SS427 Z24 Impala and was mainly an engine compartment restoration. I was offered the car for $5500 which was a LOT of money back then and passed. This car was later sold and went to Floyd Garret. He re-restored the car many years later and removed the vinyl top. Unfortunately I have no idea of the VIN.

Man, Rick. You were good even when good wasn't good!! :confused2::hmmm::drool: That's talent!! Timeless work = a timeless restoration years later. Very impressive!

LOL. Thanks Dave. Honestly a lot of it came from my youth building model cars and airplanes and competing with adults on a national level through IPMS (International Plastic Modeler's Society). I was only a teenage and was damned if I would let the adults out do me so I went above and beyond to build some outrageous models. In 1981 I went to work for Corvette Specialties restoring Bloomington Gold Corvettes. Those people were crazy anal even back then so I learned early how to be detail oriented. LOL

Beautiful car. The vinyl top looks very classy on this brute!
