1967 Mustang GT day two find..
Hello all.... been away too long but found a stray pony to bring home. 1967 Mustang GT fastback A code 289 4 speed. Was a local street racer, tunnel ram 289 with 351W heads. Came with original 4 bbl. intake with a 800 cfm Holley on it! Was locked up, freed up after a month and going to stay a day two car. Local car to KC area always..

How does the tunnel ram fit under the stock hood? Or is that why it's slightly ajar?
|
You don't see Q Jets on a T Ram very often. I'm assuming you took the carbs off to get the hood closed.

Any updates on this project?

Anything new?
|
Any chance this car was out in Olathe, Kansas? I never got a good look but there was a 66-68 fastback sitting under a lean-to for years.

Sorry for the delay guys!
Yep, took carbs off to get hood closed. Hood was never cut, ran without. I’m not sure but may have been possible it was in Olathe, KS. Owner passed and not much info from brother.
Engine was locked up so I put PB Blaster and synthetic oil down all intake ports. Sat for a month, then I got it to rotate! Went ahead and pulled the engine out and disassembled, this is what I found: Original block, crank and rods, all std. uncut. Aftermarket pop-up pistons ink stamp still visible 69 dated 1970 351 heads with larger valves Biggest darn Isky cam... .578 lift 312 duration full comp! Sold the intake, have a dual plane and bought a 650 mechanical secondary Holley and stainless long tube headers( period headers did not survive media blast). Got some Quadrajets to sell, one is from a 69 Camaro 350. Progress slowed for home remodel and winter... been gathering parts. More soon! |
