I got lucky at Mecum and scored this car from my friend Marty Nelson. Canadian built 66 SS 396 convert with GM of Canada paperwork. Optioned just about perfectly and a stunning restoration. 360 hp, 4 speed, knee knocker tach, power windows, wood wheel, headrest seats etc.
Fun seeing the different stuff on a Canada built car. Look at the 1/4 panel emblems, trim tag, parking brake light ahead of the shifter. Pics don't do the car justice. |
Congrats Charley!
I've shot that one many times at Pavilions. |
wow, what a NICE Chevelle!never saw a blue bowtie on hubcaps, is that a Canada thing?
|
Congrats on the score Charlie!! The Canadian versions of the Chevelle and Beaumonts have always stirred my curiosity, fueled by my friends who own them. It's really cool that they call out the engine/trans combo on the cowl tag.

Congrats Charley. Cool car, eh!

Very nice. Is the silver panel between the tail lights a Canadian thing? Also, not knowing any better, I would have called a 136 car a Malibu, not SS. Also Canadian?

Congrats Charley ! They are neat cars with a few different finishings than it’s US built cousin . Very rare car with this drivetrain.

Neat Chevelle-congrats...I've seen it quite a few times.
Now, what about the motorcycle with the pickle sidecar?:hmmm: |
