Help / '69 Z/28 air cleaner opinion?

Hello,
This site is a great resource- so many knowledgeable guys on here to learn from.
How does this air cleaner base look off my Brother's '69 Z/28 that I've been helping document & fix little mechanical issues. (car has the ducted hood- not sure if it was added later or original) I read several places that the assembly-line versions are referred to as having a "Flat Base"- hard to tell what I have unless someone has seen several to make comparisons. I took a few pics. There was one for sale on here recently and this one looks the same to me? The car does have the original Holley carb, not a reproduction and still has the small fuel line bracket off the carb base.
Anyways, check out the pics and let me know your thoughts?
Thanks!
Jerry

Looks legit to me. The elbow also appears to be a 90 degree bend vs 2 45 degree bends on later/service replacements. Does the seal ring plate have a flat cut off the OD or is more oblong?

I agree, looks like an original ZL2 base to me. I recently fixed the pics on my ZL2 comparison thread on TC: https://www.camaros.net/threads/zl2-...of-pics.54696/

Air cleaner

If car has fuel line support bracket from factory (stamp rite ) should be a later car , later cars at some point went to base with ridge not flat bottom . The flat bottom breathers sell for more money . Other ways to tell if hood was added , solenoid on firewall assembly line mounting and should have switch on accelerator pedal and special lever to mount switch under hood . If his base does not have thermactor ( round gizmo on top of snorkel it is for a manual trans and quite valuable ) . Pictured air cleaner is flat base .

Thanks for all the feedback! I'll take a look at the seal ring plate and check out the comparison photos. I was going to pull valve covers to see if "non-dripper" style or not, plus can check the head part# & casting dates. Fun stuff.
Much appreciated!
