Eric, I have 2 pr of 8.5 satin ADs 1 pr is new, NEW! , 1 pr like new. & 1 pr of 3.5s (not sure if I’ll part with these 3.5s, but may? ) and I am only less than 1 1/2 hours away. I bought all of these in 1979! And have owned them a long time.

VintageMusclecar 05-10-2018 03:05 AM

I have a pair of Centerline 3.5's lined up locally, let me know on those 8.5's!

jerry455 05-10-2018 03:58 PM

I'd be interested in a pair of the 15x8.5- (either set)
PM if looking to sell.
Thanks!
Jerry

If you go with Centerlines, do yourself a huge favor and have some hubcentric rings made. I don't believe anyone has them on the shelf. I can send you the specs, or you can just measure them yourself. Several places on line that will make them for you.

I had several guys ask if I have to re-torque lugs from time to time, because most guys running CL wheels do have to re-torque. I do not, but only because I had rings made for both sets that I run. The very early CL wheels used beveled lug nuts (I STILL had rings made for those) but all the later wheels use a shank type lug nut. There is no way that the wheel is exactly centered via those shank nuts without a ring.

Back to square one, still looking.

I have a pair of 15x7 SSTs... Likely not what you want but I'd let them go super cheap?

Let me know.

Are you stuck on those sizes? Guessing these are for your Chevelle?

15 x 10 fit under the rear of my 68 El Camino with not problem.

I believe they are the same bs as this set:

Mine are the very early ones with screw on hub caps.

Dan;

I appreciate the offer, but I need 8" rims for my 276/60 DR's. I had to temporarily put the DR's on my old 15X7 steel rims to achieve workable backspacing with the new narrower `67 12 bolt in the car, and the tires are bulging pretty bad on them.

VintageMusclecar 05-11-2018 11:21 PM

Lynn;

For whatever reason, my 8's were only about an inch away from the lower shock mounts, I don't think I could get anything wider than 9" on there without it hitting.

Maybe you could have said that it was not the backspacing you were looking for. You insinuate that I was unwilling to help or try and help or others may take it that way and that was not the case.

Do you still have a set of 3 1/2s or are you still looking for those too?

I wasn't insinuating anything, sorry if you mistook it that way.

As I said in my original post, I need the 8.5" rears with 4 7/8" backspacing, and as I replied to your text message your wheels are the shallow backspacing.

For the record, I had no issue with you.

I figured it might be a bit tighter on the 67. These 15 x 10 are tight on my 68 for sure.
Will keep my eyes peeled. Good luck on your search. There are out there. Sometimes you just have to be patient.

Here is another set of 3 1/2s.

I'm also a big proponent of hubcentric rings and have made several sets in the past. The weight of the car should be on the axle register and not the studs. It's amazing how large that gap can be between the axle register and some aftermarket wheel manufacturers!

Unfortunately there's no usable hub for the wheels to register on. These Strange axles have a very shallow hub that's only long enough to register the brake drum.

On the plus side, the axle studs are 1/2".

Still not exactly what you're looking for, but closer. https://www.ebay.com/itm/mickey-thom...8AAOSwhcdakLNC

The Hot Rod Reunion is in Bowling Green KY this weekend. The swap meet is always pretty good, and usually several sets of Centerline wheels. If you are still looking I'll let you know if I find something.

VintageMusclecar 06-14-2018 11:13 PM

Thanks for the offer, but I'm putting the search on the back burner for now.

big gear head 06-15-2018 12:41 AM

OK. Anything else you are looking for?
