Earntaz –
Thank you for being obedient to the call. You might appreciate (“enjoy” is probably not the right word) a new book by my brother in law Doug Stanton: “The Odyssey of Echo Company”, which is about the 101st Airborne during the Tet Offensive. Doug’s books are not an easy read but I believe they are usually pretty cathartic for those who were there. Best wishes – K https://www.amazon.com/Odyssey-Echo-...y+doug+stanton |
Thank you Taz for your service sir.

I was stationed at the QuiNhon airfield with a Helicopter Maintance Company....
This building was the radio station in the heart of Qui Nhon. The VC and NVA occupied it during TET of '68. My understanding was that the 173RD (correct me if i am wrong) came into town with tanks and blew the hell out of them to get them out. |
I was just a little too young to participate but I remember the timeframe.
I continue to be amazed at how many personal photos and footage were captured. My dad had a friend (a fellow GTO owner/racer) who ended up being a door gunner on a Huey. I remember him bringing movies home and showing them on our white living room wall. K |
Ken Burns Vietnam
Since were talking Nam, I highly recommended watching this documentary. What a disaster it was for three presidents, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. A game of politics. I thought I understood Nam until I watched this.. 58000 plus comrades, rest in peace :flag:

I agree Mike. I watched it and it opened my eyes about a few things. Verne:flag: |
