"NOS" 1 Gallon of DuPont Lucite Acrylic Lacquer Daytona Yellow / Sebring Yellow

I have a gallon of acrylic lacquer in Daytona Yellow for sale. The can is beat up. It is the same color as Oldsmobile's 1970 Sebring Yellow and came with a W-car I recently parted. I have no idea what the value of this is, but I know some guys are still looking to spray their cars in lacquer for the "factory original" finish. I'll start the asking price at $400, however, in full transparency I have no idea if that's too high or too low. If you're interested, PM me and we can discuss.

How old do you think it is? Any pics of the can?

If it was stored properly it can last a very long time. I have several gallons that I’ve had for decades and it’s still very good. Has long has it didn’t freeze and is air tight it’s okay. In today’s prices $400.00 is very fair. A pint of BC/CC of yellow is around $200.00.

Keep in mind that it is not a factory mix, so, you're at the mercy of the person who mixed it for accuracy.

I didn’t realize they made factory mix in gallons other than Black , White and some Fleet colors.

they didnt.. Dupont made what we called FacPacks in pints only. The only gallons i remember were as you mentioned.

this should be put in a shaker for a while and then opened to see if its good. i was a certified Dupont Jobber for 12 years.. 20 years ago i was still making lacquer for a few corvette restorers before Dupont reformulated every last corvette color over to BC/CC in chromabase. even back then my toners were subject to seperating and then hardening in a factory sealed can. just a little FYI.
