1970 Corvette Wheel Fitment Question

Hi All,

Seeking your expertise... I'm looking for purchase a nice set of vintage wheels for my bone stock 1970 LT1 Corvette.

Will a 15x8.5 inch wheel w/ a 3.75 in backspace fit without rubbing issues on my car (front and back)?

Stock AZ wheels are 15x8 with a 4.25 in backspace.

Thanks,
Dan

Great point. After some additional research, I found out that the stock wheels actually have a 4in back spacing so the 3.75 inch back space on a wider wheel will almost a neutral position from stock (about .25 inch).

Thanks for your help!

The TT on the rear of mine are 15x8.5 w/ 3.75 bs fit real nice, no rubbing even w/L60's & 2 fat dudes in the car, just had to put a 1/4 spacer on drivers side to clear the muffler on the inside. As long as they clear the caliper seems that's usually the issue, I know my Cragars don't even come close to fitting w/out all kinds of spacers As long as you don't go w/ too big a tire on the front you should be good ???

American Racing made the T70 wheel and T70R in a 8.5" width designed (I believe) specifically for a 68 up Corvette. Here's a picture of a T70 in a 7" width which is the only picture I have at the moment. AR also makes a new version of at least the T70R maybe both
