I thought this Hemmings article has some useful reassembly tips. They consulted with Super Car Workshop's Brian Henderson and Joe Swezey, whoever they are ... :hmmm:

One that I didn't see is... to make your life much easier install your passenger kick panel prior to the inside heaterbox.
The kick panel may go after however it's a tight fit at best.

I learned the hard way on this one ! I then started putting the kick panels in first even before carpet, just in place and not screwed down.
