I've been spending some time here and there just addressing a few small items that need attention. The key buzzer is now working again, as it the parking brake warning light.

I pulled the front speaker in my 71 this morning, to find it only has 1 wire going to it? So it grounds through the frame of the speaker?

I cannot say I have seen that before if it is correct. There does not appear to be any other wires available like there is on the rear speaker.

I just wanted to ask the obvious and stupid question before I send the speakers out to be rebuilt.

In advance, thanks for the consideration.

Tim

Your ‘71 front speaker.

My OEM ‘65 front speaker and the rear speaker with their matching date codes.

Yours looks like Delco, 1971, week 5.
Does that correlate to your cars build?

Mine also uses just one wire as the speaker frame is grounded to the body.

CT.

Yes it does. My car was built 2nd week of February 71 (02B)

Enjoy the T/A! I'm happy to assist with any questions on these critters. Need any parts? I think I have some left - like an original rear bumper I had rechromed, as well as minor shrapnel here and there in the garage. PM me if you are missing anything.

The only thing I see that may be a later replacement in the engine bay is that brass brake distribution block under the master cylinder. IIRC the 71 to 75 used the cast iron version. I think I have one somewhere???

I appreciate the offer Steve!. I do have the original that I am going to send out to be redone (survivor style).

How bout a radiator for a 70 RAIII 4 speed car.......or a 1102024 dist? And the ever elusive, 1108436 starter!

Thanks again for thinking of me!
Tim
