Just FYI, Yenko trimmed off the 360 HP part of the decals anyhow, so for a Deuce any paper-backed 350 decal would work regardless of HP.

i did not know that
there i go learning again!!!!!!! so as long as i get a 350 turbo fire decal regradless of the HP rating i am good to good to go then joe? thanks again for the info joe regards chris |
Thats correct. The original ones were paper with a foil coating rather than a thin mylar. There have been some correct repro paper ones produced, find one with any HP rating and trim it off.
You need to buy a copy of Matt Avery's new COPO book. There's an entire chapter on Yenko Deuces, with many detail photos including one showing the way the air cleaner decal was trimmed. https://www.copothebook.com/ |
thx again for the info
just bought a NOS 350 turbo-fire paper back decal off ebay (350 hp) but as you mentioned i will be cutting that part off THANK YOU!!!!! i have just bought att averys book...cant wait to read it thx chris |
That's correct Joe... the original air cleaner HP labels AND the 69 tire pressure door jamb sticker appear to have been printed on Beer Label stock which is a wet strength paper with vapor deposited aluminum to appear as foil HOWWEVER without glues, separate rolls of paper and foil with an inline sheeting operation (plus the associated recycling and waste nightmares dealing with a laminated substrate trim and waste) Aluminized paper is MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE THAN FOIL LAMINATED PAPER - foil is typically used as a barrier to eliminate water vapor, UV, in addition to other oxidizing and contaminate transmission/leaching.
