69 Camaros - Mecum Harrisburg
1969 Yenko Camaro - $235k Sold
1969 RS Copo Camaro - $150k Sold Hammer prices do not include 10% premium. |
There was the yellow Copo Lot S196 that sold for 99K. Is there a softening with these cars or did this car have known issues? Seems like the resto market has also seen some softening too as I saw a couple cars that didn't crest 50K

The Yenko Camaro was a 4 speed and sold for $258,500 and restored in 1996. Overall, I would guess market is going to soften over time as the collectors age and die off. Same thing happens to most cars of certain eras. The very top examples are likely to continue to hold value over time. |
Kind of a mixed bag - obviously down from the peak, but I think stable for now.

The yellow copo was good car but didn't have original motor, I put Ottis on to that car when he bought it. I owned the yellow Yenko car at one time and sold it to the brothers that restored it, it is a good car but motor was gone. The orange rally sport has some short comings. As for the market I would agree the more original and restored cars are soft and frankly even though I have a garage full of them I welcome it because I have always enjoyed buying them more than selling them.

Great feedback on the auctions- I like hearing the back-stories on the cars to gauge values, especially when compared to catalog descriptions/estimates or "on the ground" member reports.
I was surprised at the nice looking '70 Buick GSX struggled to break 40K and I think sold at 50K- seemed really cheap for a real Saturn yellow GSX?? I just booked hotel & flights for Mecum Dallas- looking forward to that in September! |
the gray haired gentleman in the orange T shirt on the right was screaming on the stage when this green 442 came up,then the auctioneer called him a liar.
what was going on with this guy? https://scontent.fcmh1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...c3&oe=5DED83D4 |
The prices may have been higher if the false perception that anyone could walk into any chevrolet dealer and buy a pre 3 second 2020 vette for 60 k and get to pick out thier own vin wasnt out there.
