hidden VIN

Doing due diligence on a 1967 Chevelle's authenticity and wondered where the "hidden" VIN is located? Same location as a 1969 Camaro?

I think top of firewall below the passenger wiper arm after the cowl panel is removed, also under the outer heater box after it is removed too, in the heater motor area. you may be able to see that 1 by just removing the heater motor.

On '67 Chevelles, Adding to what has been said, partial VIN stamped on top of pass. side cowl, under the cowl panel, on later production Atlanta cars only.

The partial stamped on top of the rear frame rail is generally done twice.

I have seen Fremont (CA) cars with the partials stamped on top of the frame under the drivers door, difficult to see with the body on.

Also a Muncie trans should be stamped on top of the case.

There are not very many surviving L78s with their original engines. Another one found would be very Kool. Keep us posted. Also the L78s were built within a certain time frame. Post a pic of the trim tag.
