Back in Black - GM Style
My son said that I needed a new truck to match the trailer I bought last week so I obliged and bought a new AT4...in black of course. I tried to find a 2500HD but could not source one right away, so I ordered a diesel and managed to snag this 6.2 GMC until the new one comes in 6 months or so.
I'm sure it'll pull the load nicely with 420hp/460lbs. I'm back in black...again! https://i.ibb.co/86G5397/IMG-1226.jpg https://i.ibb.co/Kqp0kqP/IMG-1254.jpg https://i.ibb.co/8dhVKH1/IMG-1247.jpg |
Good lookin’ rig.

Thanks Bruce. Don't know that I like it as much as that Pearl rig you just landed but I will have to make due I guess. One things for sure, It'll sure be hard to hide when that Yellow Brat comes sneakin' out of the back.
Maybe I'll need to trade that Z in on a black LS6 or a black RS Z/28.:burnout: |
Nice!

Does this mean that you will be making the trip to Bowling Green in July?

Would love to check it out Freddie. Time will tell as I have a lot on my plate for this summer.

What's the trailer towing capacity on that black truck?
The crazy thing is that any decent half-ton pickup nowadays is rated far higher in towing capacity than an old 3/4-ton. It's amazing how far these things have come. My old 1995 6.5 diesel K2500 Suburban is rated at 7,500 lbs towing. That's like a mini-pickup rating now!!! |
This one has RPO NH1 which denotes the max trailering package. Combined with the 6.2L engine it has a max tow weight of 13,000lbs. Respectable I'd say.
I think most of the standard pickups will now tow about 8900 lbs by spec, but that is likely impacted with the smaller motors. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2022/01...ng-capacities/ |
Nice!
The 6.2 is so much better than the 5.3. I love mine. |
----My 1993 Suburban with the 510 cube big block will pull manything, but it's the brakes that I worry about. I wish I could find a company that makes an affordable brake upgrade. One of my boats weighs 11,000lbs and even with the trailer brakes I'm extra careful!....Bill S
