Help with Engine detailing 1969 Nova SS

5 Attachment(s)
I am looking for help with the proper details on the engine bay of my 1969 Nova SS.
The original owner did detail it back in the early 1980's usung the wrong shades of black and added "dress ups" such as the chrome valve covers and aftermarket intake. I have the originals and will install them soon.
I welcome your thoughts on the Proper details
Thanks in advance...

69 Nova...

Here are a few items to consider;

-hose clamps should be the 'tower' style

-master cylinder shown appears to be a 70 style...69 is shaped like a bathtub

-battery cables need to be changed...also, not sure on 69 small block, but I believe the neg. cable bolts to the block, not the alt. bracket..??

-water pump bolts should be painted engine color

-wilma

----What Tom said, plus, correct looking master cylinders are all over the place, but you need the correct stamping on the machined edge up front. Tom should have an idea what the two letters should be. As well, it would be good to find one dated within the correct parameters. Makes it a bit harder, but ultimately better.
You may already have the correct washers and bolts for the valve covers, but you might not. Ditto on the intake manifold bolts
Can't quite see if the lock tabs are on the exhaust manifold to engine bolts, and are those bolts correct?. The tabs may or may not have been used. I'm not up on Nova stuff anywhere near as much as Tom.....Bill S

I think I snagged this pic from earlier L48 threads on this site.

I believe that is a Site members car when he picked it up new from the Dealer.

The heater hose fitting shown on your water pump should not be painted. Add engine lift brackets.

Is this the engine lift bracket? Should the hose go thru it?
THANKS

These markings were added by the prior owner.
Should my car have them?
I believe the firewall paint is original.

Yes.
No.

Looks like his negative cable goes to the thermostat bolt which is correct.
Those PBT stamps were used at Norwood, so those would not be correct.

Looks like your brake booster hose is too long so cut it shorter.
Should be a clip on the top of the alt bracket for the neg wire??

That old pic really shows alot!!
