'68 Firebird 400/4-sp Convertible Survivor
Neat car that looks to have been extremely well preserved over the years. Asking strong $$ but may just get it.

Man, I drooled over a few of these same photos of this car a few years ago when the car sat in a dealership... I believe in the Chicago area? They wanted around $40k for it. Looks like the car sold and went to KY.
Thanks for posting. Still luv this car! |
I don't think I have ever seen a Firebird that had gauges but no tach on the hood.
I guess the gas tank has been out since there is now rubber between the tank and the straps, which is not how they came. |
Dang! that's a sharp looking color combination. As much as I like my survivors, I think I'd have to dye or replace that faded carpeting since the rest of the interior is so crisp. That's a strong number but they're not wrong to ask.

Wow, this one's almost right in my back yard - literally. Probably a 15 minute drive.

Purdy! Looks like a dry car too!

Without verifying my sense is that the hood tach was a stand alone option. Sidebar: I had a friend that started his career as a GMI student in the Pontiac assembly plant. He commented one time that the hood tach was not a very popular item when first introduced (due to poor reliability) and that there were a ton of parts left over at the end of the model year that had to be disposed of. I have always wondered why Pontiac didn't offer a hidden headlight option on the Firebird similar to the Rally Sport package on the Camaro. They had the hidden headlight endura treatment on the 68/69 GTO. How cool would that have looked on the 'Birds?
