Tough one and seems little info to be found less than 50 years later. My Newspapers.com access still isn't working but fcs66 or other members can give it a go for you there. Maybe you've seen them already but here's one of the '72 ads from Newspaper Archives w/ phone # that may help searching...'70 Duster ad and # looks like 239-0171? Good luck also is it a Cuda? :beers: ~ Pete . |

W:drool:W, BIG Congrats! What's the build/sale dates also do you know any past License Plate #'s registered to the car? :beers: ~ Pete . |
Pete, I have all the regs since new so there may be another plate on one of them . But here here is the one that physically came with the car.

I checked the Newspapers.com site from my work system and see a few Mission ads but nothing Cuda or Hemi also most ads '72 or later. I was wondering on the build/sale dates to search ads of the time frame also running CA Plate #'s can sometimes be surprising too, so LMK anything more and we'll give it a whirl. :beers: ~ Pete . |

Three hits for the 519-JPF Plate # and same ad w/ car being advertised in the LA Times in Aug '73. Here's one ad below, the $ 2695 sounds good...did you pay more than that Chuck? Great to hear you have lots of paper so doesn't sound like you need to backtrack owners but if you did, next would be search ad Phone # etc. :beers: ~ Pete . |

No luck w/ the Hemi Plate #'s as all gets mixed in w/ thousands of other ads. The '73 Phone # was still being used in other ads as recently as 2003 also noted as Oceanside...may be worth a try as it could be the OO's and who knows who still has old paperwork saved?:hmmm: :beers: ~ Pete . |
Pete, absolutely amazing you came up with that . Thanks for that!!

Happy to help Chuck also cool there were ads there for your car! Of billions of newspapers over the years, very few have been scanned by these Old Newspaper groups but often amazing what has been so always worth at least trying. Best of luck if you give the # in the old ad a go! :beers: ~ Pete . |
What's the earliest date you have for that license plate with the paperwork that you have?
|
I believe its 1972 or 1973
|
Does it have N95 and N98 on the fender tag? What's the VON?
|
No on n95 and n98..
|
Interestingly it has the original California N98 emissions decal on the fender, yet it has no part # on it ,unlike every reproduction sticker Ive seen.
|
Generally, the N98 decal was on the driver's quarter window.
Does any of the paperwork have the dealer number (for Mission Chrysler)? It should be a two-digit zone code plus five other digits. |
I'll check for dealer info. I'm no mopar expert but I believe I read that in 71 the sticker was on drivers fender next to fender tag. As is sometimes the case maybe it was an early / late having different locations. This car for sure has it's original sticker on the drivers inside fender
|
Also has 97 on the buildsheet in the label box under evc. That is the last 2 numbers of the part number on the tags
|
Correction 79, not 97.
|
What about the VON?
|
Maybe send the VIN to Frank Badalson at [email protected]
He has an extensive list on 71 Hemi 'Cuda's. Do you have the Broadcast Sheet? |
So is it safe to say we're not gonna get to see the VON?
