Going thru my parts cabinet and found this..I bvought it...but dont remember what it is for..anyone??

1970-71 Monte Carlos & 1970-71 Chevelle/Elcamino equipped with the round gauge dash.(Not necessarily Super Sport)

Looks pretty close to the lighter in my 69 Chevelle https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif Only difference I can see is in the tapered portion near the middle...mine is shinier than the one pictured.

I agree with Rick regarding it's 70 usage, but it's not correct for 71 models. 71 cars all used the new european design soft rubber knob style with the flame symbol on the head of the knob.

Not all of them.
For years I noticed some 1971 Monte C./Chevelle/Elcamino round gauge dash cars that had this lighter.I always chalked it up to owners replacing them with the design used in 70,but then realized too many were showing this and it couldn't just be that.Some were even in the hands of original owners who said it came that way.I started checking assembly dates and saw build dates within the first 45 days of assembly were most prone to this from the factory. Call it a factory shortage,miscommunication or fau paux,but some 71 models did receive them originally..briefly.
