Windshield molding removal

What's the best way to R&R the front and rear moldings around glass to avoid bending moldings or chipping paint? 68 Camaro

With the tool that is specially made for that purpose. Available at most Camaro reproduction suppliers. Classic Industries part number A7914. The tool gets under the moulding and lifts the clip away from the retaining edge of the moulding. You still need to use care though.

I like to run some masking tape down on the glass first to help avoid scratcing it with the tool.
