Glass polish
Posting here because I figure some of you guys have got this figured out. I need to polish some glass. Minimal distortion is NOT a problem. Was thinking of purchasing a pound of cerium oxide (99% pure), and using a cotton buffing wheel on an angle grinder.
Bad idea? Thanks for any input. |
Re: Glass polish
use the powder mixed with water to make a slurry then make sure to keep the wheel wet with water, it will keep the heat down.... it will be a bit messy slinging the compound around, keep from too high of rpm's on the polishing head, rule of thumb is if you can feel the scratches with your finger nail they won't polish out with good results, it will be a pretty slow process.

Re: Glass polish
Eastwood has a kit that I believe uses the powder that you were talking about. I used it to take a windshield wiper scratch out of my car. Slow and easy.
