Trans Am Racing Rules ????

I am going to build my 67 Camaro into a Day 2 Trans Am racer type car ...What are the rules as far as racing on the road courses. I believe the car had to actually race in the series back in the day in order to race today. Is that true? There must be a class for other cars I would guess?
Can someone explain the classes for a beginner...Thanks Max

Max,

If you want to race with other Historic Trans-Am cars in West Coast events, your car has to have raced in a Trans-Am event back in the '72 and earlier timeframe. If you are looking to race a '67 Camaro and it has no history, there are other organizations that do allow you to race or can at least point you to the right racing group in your area. Try Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) at www.hsrrace.com , Vintage Racer Group (VRG) at www.vrgonline.org , or Sportscar Vintage Racing Assn (SVRA) at www.svra.com .

Any of those would be a good place to learn more.

Good luck,
-Jon
