RC 15 Radiator Cap Restoration

Hi Guys,

Much to my disappointment John Pirkle is no longer restoring RC 15 radiator caps. I spoke with him today and was shocked when he told me. In lieu of that, can anyone recommend a top notch person to restore and rebuild my RC 15 radiator cap?

Thanks in advance,

-Dave

Unless it is has alot of pits it may only need to be cleaned up. You can do that. Put it on a car and see if it holds pressure. If it does you are in good shape and just use a brass brush/steel wool and some good cleaner. I have done 3 myself and they are still doing fine. I bet most of the cars you will use them on Dave will be show cars and will never reach temp. anyhow. If that does not suit you, Pacecar Jeff in Florida does a pretty nice job. He probably has them for sale too. Also get ahold of "Mockingbird Sam" the King of Day-2. He was messing with them for awhile himself. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

The windex and 0000 steel wool works wonders. I've done two so far and they turned out great.

Try just Vinegar & 0000 steel wool too.
It's the main ingredient in Windex and doesn't cloud up as much when used straight.
It acts as a lubricant for the wool,as well as removing the dirt/grime/rust.
