this item number or cut/paste link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Beautiful...#ht_4822wt_1067 anybody know this car? never mentions L78 or "1 of 600" or anything. weird. Here are pics I got from owner of engine numbers. Not the greatest, but anything look off? thanks in advance. |
Re: L78(?) on eBay
I won't comment if the stamp is original or not because I cannot see anything. If he is unwilling to strip the paint from the pad (stress with chemicals and NOT sand paper) then I'll infer that indicates the motor is not original. I'd also like to see the trans stamp and rear housing date. No cowl tag photo either... seems odd.

Re: L78(?) on eBay
For starters the wheels and rally stripes are incorrect for this car. The Z28 was the only Camaro in 1970 to get these wheels and rally stripes. The steering wheel is also not correct for 1970 and to find the correct one is not easy because it was a 1 year only item. A true 70 L78 Camaro properly restored would not have any of these items so it wouldn't surprise me if the engine turns out not to be original as well.
