relocated my friends 65 convert to my garage :)

Just got my friends car (65 malibu ss convert) over to my garage last night, as I am pondering buying it, and plan to inspect it closer.
Car has every freaking power option on it, with a build card.
It has a power top, power steering, power brakes, power bucket (one of 23 made), console, tilt wheel, rear seat belts (another rare option), 4 season airconditioning, and AM/FM.
I noticed it has a huge harrison radiator and a 7 blade fan. It also has a trans cooler infront of the radiator. 42 amp alt (with deep grove pulley).
dual exhaust 327.

I dont think it has its original engine, but plan to expect it really close for casting dates over the weekend. It even has the factory 12 bolt rear end. I know they probably never made an L79 with an auto and air, but I have to wonder about this car.

It has 'custom' badges under the chevy logo on the interior door panels (like from a 65 chevy truck), and I looked at those very very close, and would say they are factory installed when the car was made. The average joe could not have installedd them as good as they are installed. No one I know has ever seen this before (very cool) on a 65 chevelle/malibu.
car is a very tempting purchase.
thought I would share the rarity of a cool car with being loaded with every option (including some rare ones). It begs to be a L79

Those custom labels on the interior sound familiar. I have heard of this before, but it may be the same car.

Please post pictures of interior including center AC vent..

yep, I have talked about this car here before. I finally got it to where I can stalk it at home myself to figure out what is up with the custom logo on the door panel and then also put it on a lift and check out what is underneath.

I forgot to add, it has power windows, a clock in the dash, and bumper guards, also an under hood light. dual horns. I think they had to have checked off EVERY option on the list. Why there are so few power bucket seat cars out there made (23) may have something to do with the custom logo on the door panel.

looking through the old 65 documentation that came with the car, it sure seemed like chevrolet liked to use the word 'custom' in a lot of its descriptions. Custom 4 season air, custom this custom that....

will post picture of center air vent this weekend...

If I buy it, I would put the hubcaps of a z16 on it, and the gold line tires, as the car is a crocus yellow black top black interior car. Would be cool if restored that way. Wife already told me 'maybe' I can buy it cause we can put the little ones in back and put the top down for a cruise.
