8 second race car built on the regular assm. line

Ford is an amazing company... Where else can you buy a 100% race ready car right down to the slicks from a regular car dealer?

Impressive! That Ford Race motor is stout looking!

Kind of surprised they didn't use a 5.0, it being the new engine and all.

yea I figured they would be using a bored/stroked 5.0 too. But the 5.4 is a proven motor for your I guess. Both motors are winners..

Ford clearly has their stuff together. They are also auctioning off a 1of 1 Boos 2012 Mustang for Charity @ barrett Jackson. They are also winning over quite a few import buyers with their product line

Very cool, I love these Mustangs!

Did I miss something in the link, where does it state '8-second' race car? Perhaps the link changed stories, I'm not sure....

Believe it.....they are 8-second cars. They're capable creating their own atmosphere with the supercharger and the 2008 and 2010 are absolutely flying.

The ZR-1 Corvette, and a multitude of tuner cars with 700+ horsepower, barely hit 11's (or perhaps a 10 second pass with perfect conditions, traction, and a pro driver), and the 1000 hp Bugatti Veyron can crack a low 10-second et....but 8's? The Mustang would need 1000+ horsepower (probably a turbo, or a supercharger and a heck of a lot of nitrous), and a chassis setup for drag racing.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see evidence of an 8-second Mustang straight from-the-factory, I'm just looking for a link to read about them...
