502 head swapp..
 
Im building my 502 its an older ram jet 2002,im trying to decide witch heads to use,the round port aluminum,or a set of cast iron rectangle port open chamber,i think there 1971 heads i will be just racing it,im also gonna be runnen a solid roler cam.thanks for the help in advance..

I'll probably get flamed for this, and there are several here that would have a lot more knowledge than myself, but if it's a newer set of "round" aluminum head's I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they'll possibly have a better chamber shape & port flow than the older rectangular heads. Mark Johnson would be a good guy to ask..

(edit: I said Mark M initially, but meant Mark J...doh!)

The new aluminum heads are the way to go. They;re all done to todays setups. No porting or flowing. Bolt on and have fun. Plus alum is lighter, on the front end. And the alum transfers the heat faster. Benny
