Radiator Replacement
Well my 72 Nova rad finally called it quits on Sunday. I noticed small weeping around the edges and had it pressure tested today, the shop said it's leaking and needs replacement.
What have you guys used? I am looking for an original/era correct look. My current one is a 4 core without tranny line inlet/outlets. Anything would be great. Thanks! |

Small Block. I have been looking at some off ss396 that look real close.

Re: Radiator Replacement
If the radiator is original to your Nova, take the radiator to a shop and get it re-cored (new center section).

</div></div> If the originality is important to you..have it recored by a good shop. Also, try to have them re-use the factory top rail on the core if possible (don't let them throw this away)...that way it will have the correct look. If there is a tag affixed to the tank, be sure to remove it and save it with your vehicle docs. These tags often fall off or are thrown away by radiator shops...if the tanks are in rough shape (dings and dents) try to have them smoothed out and then glass beaded before the recore. All of this may seem like overkill..just depends on how nice/original you want things to be. wilma |
