Re: 1969 Big Block Chevy alt. brace
Shouldn't that have the spacer installed in one of the holes to align with the smog pump? I think I have one, but don't know what it's worth.

Re: 1969 Big Block Chevy alt. brace
Don't think it has anything to do with smog pump. It bolts to back of alternator and other end goes on lower long bolt that goes through alternator along with a spacer and lower bracket(I have everything but the brace). I have the smog pump and bracket as well. I have the correct lower bracket for alt. with rivet in center that smog pump bolts through. The brace is flat, aprox. 3 inches long with hole at each end and a mnfg. stamp of "V" and is a '69 only part.

Re: 1969 Big Block Chevy alt. brace
Do you need original PCV square edge clamps or original fuel square edge clamps? If so, I have a healthy stock of both.
Let me know... thanks Dan |
Re: 1969 Big Block Chevy alt. brace
OK, when you said the flat bracket, I thought you were talking about the lower alt bracket that also holds the smog pump. 69 was flat, and had a spacer, and later years had an offset, instead of the spacer, to properly align the smog pump. Good luck with the hunt.
