My 70 LS6 Chevelle
Hasn't been out of the garage in a year, thought I would snap a few photos while I had it out.

Re: My 70 LS6 Chevelle
Marty,
Nice, tell us the history and story of your LS6. I like the Plates Plus I like that it does not have stripes. Was is a Chicago Area LS6? Dan |
Re: My 70 LS6 Chevelle
Thanks Dan. My dad bought the car from the original owner back in 76. He drove it for about 1200 miles that summer and then put it in the garage, where it sat until he passed away in 1992. I had the car repainted in 1993, and have put about 500 miles on it since then. The car was purchased from Ed Fanning in Aurora, so its been here all of it's life. We had no idea of what we had until I started researching the car back in the early 90's. My dad paid $850 for it!

Re: My 70 LS6 Chevelle
Did you ever get the original block back?
|
Re: My 70 LS6 Chevelle
I did not. I may swing by and talk to the guy that owns it one of these days, but he was adamant that he would not sell just the short block. I think he was installing it in a camaro if I remember correctly.
I offered to swap out my long block for his, he didn't seem interested. I think my long block has less than 2000 miles on it since Fanning did the warranty replacement. |
