DELCO FAN BLOWER MOTOR STAMPING DECODE?
Need help decoding the stamping on what I believe to be the original Delco fan blower motor found on my '70.
The code stamped is "788 9 A 293 3". Is this a date code or some sort of internal plant batch code? Re: DELCO FAN BLOWER MOTOR STAMPING DECODE?
To me,the assembly date for your blower motor on that flange looks like the 293rd day,(Oct.20) of 1969,Line 3,shift A.
Not sure what 788 denotes,the part# is 3929052. |

Re: DELCO FAN BLOWER MOTOR STAMPING DECODE?
Long yes,but not uncommon, and for the same reason you've given.
I've seen them dated as early as 1 week before,as well as 6 mos.before a cars assembly start date. ...788 might be the batch #. |
