Engine pad number question
OK, Number Guys
Here is the question that someone recently asked me about this specific engine. How often have you seen numbers on the stamp pad 1/2 inverted? Is this a CA built car specific thing or is it just because it was a DZ302 or is it even correct at all? http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...Picture230.jpg |
Re: Engine pad number question
Typical for VN in '67 4sp sbc. Maybe autos too, sometimes...can't remember.

Re: Engine pad number question
That seems to be a 67 Z28 stamping... a very rare motor if it is original

Re: Engine pad number question
Yea, an A.I.R. equipped one at that... how many 67 Z's were hit with the MP? 10-12?
|
Re: Engine pad number question
Not uncommon for a LOS stamp. Also, it's an MP not DZ.

Re: Engine pad number question
Haven't seen the inversion issue but have seen a couple '70 Chevelles with the stamped VIN off by one on the last digit..............both Van Nuys cars.
......stuff happened I guess. |
Re: Engine pad number question
Has the MP been restamped?

Re: Engine pad number question
Here is an original Van Nuys 69 Z28 block stamp, 180 degrees off stamped VIN from the ID:

Re: Engine pad number question
The VIN is from a '67 and DZ engines were on '69s
http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#PadStamps MP is indeed a 302 Z/28 engine from 1967. So the question is it real? |
