12 Bolt , A-Body rear after grease removal
 

I'm putting a 12 bolt into a project car that I'm finishing up. This rear end came from Colorado, so it is very clean. It must have been a leaker from the beginning because of a generous build up of grease and dirt around the differential housing. The finishes were pretty good, so I thought it might be interesting to see the raw finishes around the center of the rear with a few inspection marks revealed. Here goes:

Sam,

I used engine degreaser, kerosene and a soft bristle brush. What a messy job. I should have taken a before picture.
