Someone needs to do this...

Real chrome reverse with no hubcaps on a Camaro..love the blue lines but red lines would look great also..

..and use real chrome reverse..not smoothies or fake/generic ones that look like crap..and use a deep offset/reverse so they fill the wheelwell..paint the rear brake drum hole white and use the little chrome dust cap on the front and =perfection.

This car just is the epitome of the late 60's early 70's...

Yep, both cars have that great Day 2 look with the chrome wheels. Today we're all hung up on Torq Thrusts (which I love and have many originals) and Cragars but chrome reverse/chrome steelies are spot-on for the period. Not everyone could afford mags and also chrome reverse/steelies were still popular. Great look. Love the bluelines on the Camaro.

I remember my local Harts dept store offering Chrome reverse for $19.95 each back in 1976-1977 or so...

Chrome reverse wheels would not bolt onto disc brake rotors, so if you saw a car with them on, you knew it was a drum brake car.

My Nova with Wheel Vintiques Chrome OE wheels, front chrome dust covers, and some vintage Mr Gasket rear axle covers I bought from a member here.

Re: Someone needs to do this...

Thank you! I wanted to try the Chrome OE wheels and whitewalls, as it seems that this was a common "day 2" mod back in the mid-60s, but something seldom seen today. I'm really happy with the "look". It's a bit different than the typical torq thrust or Cragar SS that you commonly see on a 64-68 car.

These are not true "reverse" wheels, as the Chevy II wheelwells won't allow it. I agree with the original poster than "smoothies" just don't work, but these wheel vintiques "OE" wheels have all the same features as the real original chrome reverse wheels.

that Camaro looks great. more of a road-racer stock car look than a drag racer (straight line- no turns) look.
