1970 LS6 Chevelle Convertible 4 speed wanted
1970 LS6 Chevelle Convertible 4 speed. Willing to pay for the right car, just not willing to pay ZL-1 Camaro prices.

Good luck and get in line Stefano. I have been looking for two years. I have found them but they are either not for sale, have no documents or they are ZL1 money. Then on top of that there are a BUNCH of fake ones being sold so be very careful as some are damn nice.

Rick,
What happens when you break the news to someone that their 1970 "LS6" isn't real? |

Sounds to me like a real good one might just be worth good money if they're so hard to find? JMHO |

"sounds to me like a real good one might just be worth good money if they're so hard to find? JMHO"..
I was thinking exactly the same thing.......especially given the fact that if you were looking for a "good" Zl1 in the past 2 years youd have a better pool to choose from. |

In one case and with help I was able to get $120k of my customer's money back to him due to an inspection report so he was very grateful. In another case the very well known high dollar collector was very upset that he got screwed but then proceeded to sell the car at auction as a real car. More often than not I am working for the buyer and not the seller so they are EXTREMEMLY happy to write me a check for my fees knowing they did not get taken and move on. |
Re: 1970 LS6 Chevelle Convertible 4 speed wanted
Agreed Helmut. Problem is finding a buyer that agrees with that opinion. 6 years ago I could have located and matched up buyers to as many of these cars as I could at some of these prices. Today people get VERY nervous spending over $300k for one of these cars. I have 3 VERY serious buyers looking for LS6 converts and have not been able to get any of them to pull the trigger for that kind of money. Just look at what they are selling for at auction. I agree whole hardily with the supply and demand theory but one can't blame me, I am just trying to help people locate cars and in some cases restore them and have to work within what they want to pay.

Rick, Why arent they buying the ones at auction ?? |
Re: 1970 LS6 Chevelle Convertible 4 speed wanted
Have you inspected the ones at auction? I have.....
Came close on the Fathom Blue car but that went for way more than it should have considering there was no longer a buildsheet and non original drivetrain. Real car indeed but a hard sell down the road without docs. Ok, enough hi-jacking of Stefano's thread.... |
Re: 1970 LS6 Chevelle Convertible 4 speed wanted
I believe that is the point Chuck is trying to make. You haven't bought one because you haven't found one good enough.
