69 Z-28 pistons
Looking for a set of .060 over pistons for a 302. New or slightly uses. Thanks

Re: 69 Z-28 pistons
You can use some old TRW 327 pistons with 5.850 rods. They are .025 taller than the Z pistons would be on 5.7 rods, which makes for a "zero" deck without decking, if you can find a block that is square. You then choose a head gasket the thickness of your desired quench. The domes are also just a bit shorter, so compression works out to about 10.8:1.
It MAY be that they are actaully .005 out of the hole, whic is really no problem. You just add .005 to your head gasket thickness. |

Wiseco!

Re: 69 Z-28 pistons
That is what I was thinking Sammy. Why not go with a nice set of aftermarket pistons, lighten it up and get a more aggressive ring seal. Had 2 sets done recently by Diamond and thought they were excellent!

Correct Paul. Wiseco or CP is a good choice. Those original 30 over TRW's in my motor are boat anchors.
