I know what this is !
This is an unusual small-block built in 63-64. I don´t think the intake is correct, but focus on the dampner, the stamped code and the valve covers. What car was this engine installed in originally ? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0077stu61b.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics..._0075stu61.jpg |
Re: I know what this is !
Acadian 283 even though Chris-Craft had similar covers.

Re: I know what this is !
Paul, I googled the information I got from the owner of the 283 engine and it seems like it was factory installed in a 1966 model. Not a -64 like he said. It was made in Canada but not for an Acadian. Try again.

Re: I know what this is !
So for '66 that would be the Beaumont (now being a separate model) and the Parisienne. -?

You guys are exactly on the right track!
I have some/not all Canadian numerical suffix listings, suffix ‘77’ noted below. '77' is one of the most common that shows up and was factory equipment in a lot of Canadian built 1966 model year cars. Re: I know what this is !
The guy that had this one said it came out of a Studebaker, which I thought was odd. Seems like suffix "77" was used in Studebakers as well if you look at the pics below. If the engine number starts with 776 it seems like it was used in 1966 Studebaker models. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...studebaker.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...studebaker.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...studebaker.jpg |
