What is different about them? I may have an NOS tube but not sure. The dip stick in it is wrong as it shows it for a small block but the tube have the attach brace very low on the tube. Small blocks are either very short or longer with attach brace is up high right?

To be honest I don't know. I know I have the right dipstick and oil pan but when I change my oil my oil it shows a quart to much.

FWIW, the original part # dipstick tube is still available from GM and you can order it through any local GM dealer near you. It's part # 3928901 and dealer cost is $23.33 with a list price of $40.93. Correct dipsticks are another matter, but the tube is no problem getting one. Big block Camaro, Chevelle and Nova are the same tube for 68-72. The dipstick that's also still available from GM # 3989391 is a supercede of the original # 3925599 and will work fine, but the oil specification wording is different from original as well as the color yellow plastic button is also different. Originals tend to be more of a lemon yellow color and the new ones are a lighter yellow. Dipstick dealer cost $ 10.11 with a list price of $17.76. If you have a contact at any GM dealer, you should be able to buy both for around $ 45.00
