1969 Camaro Roofrail Weatherstrip
 

Looking for a very good source on purchasing a correctly looking, latex feel and fitting roofrail weatherstripping for my '69 Camaro. Anyone have any luck with finding something really close to the original without spending NOS money? Saw one HBC---anyone ever purchase this particular weatherstripping?

Would really like to hear from anyone on their experiences on buying quality roofrail weatherstripping for their '69 Camaro! Need to know what brand would be the best to purchase and what brands to stay away from!

Sal, I used the latex door weatherstrips from HBC on my 67. I was lucky enough to find nos roof rail weatherstrips. The door weatherstrips fit, look, and work great. Hope this helps.

I was wondering the same, as im putting together a 69Z and I actually am planning to use nos door weatherstrips - but was going to go aftermarket on the roofrails.....maybe the latex. So im very interested in the opinion on this.

My thought
process was the doors with the nos weatherstrips would have the most impact on the closing capability/easeness. The roof rails, not so much as there is a lot to do with window alignment, tightness at the top etc that affect the ability close easily which I felt that I can adjust the windows to the roof rail to manage the closure. I cannot affect the doors at all with hard weatherstrip. Just my opinion, would look to others for their POV.

that carries a latex roofrail weatherstrip that I have interest in purchasing. But before I do I'd like to hear from some people who have tried this product---they are asking $179 for the pair. Would also have interest in the HBC roofrail which describes their brand to be black rubber. But is it the hard rubber or the soft rubber??? More reasonable at $60 for the pair.

I think finding a latex based weatherstrip is probably the way to go here. Hopefully get something made here in the US would be nice too. NOS is great but it's way too much $$$$$$ if you find it! Does anyone else have a particular brand they've used and wish to give their point of view. We'd like to hear from you!

These are the OER latex covered foam roof rails, they have never leaked and seal with no wind noise either.

I asked the guys at Camaro Specialties and he said they had the doors redone ,But use oer in the roof rails.... Trim Parts has premium door and roof rail weather strips also. They are soft and have a slick feel to them .....
