Door panel resto

I have one damaged 66 Chevelle driver door panel. The foil apparently got wet at some point. I am trying to save it since the rest of the panels are nice. Does anyone know somebody that could do this type of repair to replace the foil? The foil is reproduced since the repro door panels have the foil. I do not know of anyone selling only the foil. I have been looking for a replacement panel with no luck so trying the repair option. Thanks for any ideas. I prefer to save the original panels rather than go repro.

its not foil its called mylar, and it is hot laminated during construction..never heard of repairing it because of the process, but ive seen some people use pin stripe material...and looks bad...mylar is the same thing that they make chrome shiney baloons out of..

Id think a company like legendary interiors would be able to do it...the question is would they...

Distinctive Industries claims to make the correct "Dielectric "Heat Seal" Pattern with chrome (MylarŪ) trim" for 66 door panels. Ecklers has the whole panel but you could try calling Distinctive direct and see if they will sell just the bands. http://www.distinctiveindustries.com/cat...panels/497-1172
