What a shame. Sounds like it would have been a nice car to restore to original instead of pro tour.

??????

have you noticed the market trend on high end pro-touring cars selling at auction vs high end restored '69Z,s ?
$50,000 + than stock ones....crazy but true.

Re: 1969 Z parts

$250K Pro Touring builds selling for $125K isn't really an argument for modding vs. restoring. '69 Camaros are the "new" '32 Ford in the modified market and from what I've seen, still hold pretty true to the old 50% of what it cost to build them resale formula.

Re: 1969 Z parts

Yes, true on the $250K -$400K builds....a perfect example is the '69 RAD ROD's by Troy:
$600k build that's still for sale after 3 years of begging ,,,,for $159k now.

My high end pro-touring car opinion was more towards the $100K-$150K builds....they bring initial investment +
But a complete #'s matching 69 Z not being restored is pure stupidity !!!

In '84 we bought the 1980 COBO Hall winner, the Bonneville Chopped Twin Turbo Vette/ Jag suspended '34 3 window for a 1/3 off the build cost.
Same holds true today......
