Interesting is William Smith mentioned in that 2'nd link to the 1981 Boat magazine...was he a Yenko employee? Note it's a Miami boat show booth listing selling Alum' blocks but is there any specific reason he's listed as manufacturer? ~ Pete |

Re: Yenk Chevrolet, McMurray PA
Bill Smith ( better known as Smitty )worked in the parts dept for many years, Canonsburg and McMurray. He was the go to guy for performance parts, so when all dealership operations ceased in the Canonsburg location,Smitty operated Yenko Performance and Marine there, selling aluminum blocks ,etc. To racers all across the US and the world, Smitty was a trusted source for parts and information . Many people would only deal with him at Yenko. He also did Vintage race car restorations in the back room there, mostly sprints and midgets for collectors like Ed Lowther.
