need a Pontiac 455 short block
Looking to upgrade the engine compartment in my Gramma's 75 Firebird from the 350 in it now. Looking for a rebuildable 455. Can be pretty much any decent 455 from the mid-70 smog years. Dont need heads since I will be using what's on the recently rebuilt 350 engine.
Thanks, Steve |

Saw a couple on Craig's list :) but not too cheap.

Re: need a Pontiac 455 short block
Feel free to send me the links. The one I was interested in was listed on CL in several areas (Delaware, Philly, South Jersey, etc) but was in Dover, Delaware. He sold it last night before I could get down there this weekend. He also had it listed on the PY site and one of the members bought it.
I'm still looking. |

Re: need a Pontiac 455 short block
I have a rebuilt 71 HO motor on the stand with 191 round port heads but that's overkill anyway. I'll check with friends of mine to see if anyone has just a block for sale.

Re: need a Pontiac 455 short block
The machinist just called and said I need a crank too. The leftover one I had from the 455HO is too tapered and it is .030 cut already on the rod journals.

Re: need a Pontiac 455 short block
If you're interested, Steve, I can check out that Michigan 455 for you. Let me know. Tony
