Clutch Recommendations
Looking for clutch recommendations. Got two passes on my Centerforce Dual Friction and now its gone. Debating on the Centerforce DFX, Centerforce DYAD dual disc, or the McLeod RST dual disc. What clutch has anyone had luck with street/strip application?

Re: Clutch Recommendations
I agree with Sam .Had the best luck with Hayes.Do not use a McLeod had trouble with two in a row.I wasted over 700.00 dollars on clutches. The pedal was so hard to push it was crazy.Plus they chattered bad.I Centerforce would be the only other one next to Hays.Nice easy pedal with a Centerforce.

Re: Clutch Recommendations
Which Hayes clutch?

Re: Clutch Recommendations
I hate to sound like a smart ass but was the setup correct on the Centerforce? I'm not a fan of theirs but it should survive more than a few passes unless you're talking serious abuse on slicks.
Agree that Hays is usually good, and I have also had good luck with the McLeod street clutches. |

Re: Clutch Recommendations
using a ceramic disc from science friction.. holding up well.( 630hp ).no break in period like a centerforce which is the number one killer of their clutches..I should know!

Re: Clutch Recommendations
I got about 8 passes on my Centerforce DFX. Set it up and broke it in EXACTLY like their tech dept. told me. Seems like a total waste of time and money looking back on it. Have a McLeod SoftLok (fully adjustable pressure plate and aluminum flywheel to soften the blow) in the race car now and love it (pretty pricey, and a new Jerico too) and a McLeod street set up in my '72. Like both of these a lot; they are quite different but so are the requirements. Terribly disappointed with the Centerforce stuff.

Re: Clutch Recommendations
Actually I have a LUK in my Z/28 now and it is very dependable and feels great!

Re: Clutch Recommendations
At the risk of being a PITA, what is LUK?
