Goodyear polyglass E-70-14 dates

Can anyone decode the dates (MDLB Y4A386) (Y4A076) (Y4A441)

Tom
The last 3 digits are the date codes. Here's a link to a useful web page for decoding tires.

http://www.barrystiretech.com/dotcoding.html

The decode is:
MD - Tire Co. & plant Goodyear Tire Co. Gadsden, AL
LB - size - E70-14
Y4A - Tire Manufacturer code for the tire
386 - 38th week of 1976, or 1986, or 1996 but not 2006
076 - 7th week of 1976, or 1986, or 1996
441 - 44th week of 1971, or 1981, or 1991

Papa, I tried the web site but no luck on these old UniRoyals. They are DOT tires with the following: The tires are very old.
69Y 1330
321 5210

Any ideas?

Hello Verne
The DOT Tire Identification Number should be 10, 11 or 12 digits (either letters or numbers) but there can sometimes be partial TINs on one sidewall. Check the other sidewall to see if the full TIN is there.

Will do, thanks.

Those are real numbers. The last 3/4 digits came around the late 70's. The 4 digits stuff is after 2008. I do not have the magic decoder ring.

What country does the tire state it was made in? That can help narrow the age of the tires.

Thanks Rusty. Would it be too obvious to think the "69Y" means the year 1969?

Re: Goodyear polyglass E-70-14 dates

Hello Verne
The requirement for TIN on tires started in early 1971
(https://www.federalregister.gov/arti...-recordkeeping)
so it's doubtful that "69Y" means year 69 if it is actually a DOT code
