Rocker Arm Studs?

Is there anything our there that is really the correct 1970 LT1 rocker arm stud? By that, were all the studs for 70 Lt1's the same length or did they vary by application--i.e. Z28, Corvette or Yenko? I have found studs that are supposedly for 70 LT1's that are less than 1 and three fourths inches in length to some that are more than 2 and one half inches in length. Some are "press-in" and some are 7/16" screw in. My major concern in the "shoulder height". I need a few for my 70 Yenko.

I may be wrong -- but I was under the impression that all LT-1s had screw in rocker studs. TAZ

I believe GM LT-1 studs where push in, and have heard of them failing under too much spring pressure. Go with screw in studs.

I believe 1969 186 heads were pressed in studs and 1970 were all screw in studs

For what it's worth, my 70 186 heads are definitely 7/16x14 screw in's. It's the overall lengths of the studs that concern me the most. Some are less than 1 3/4 inches in overall length while others are more than 2 1/2 inches in overall length. Doesn't that change the "shoulder" height or configuration?

Another thing just occurred to me -- don't confuse LT-1 studs with LT1/LT4 studs ... they are different. The early 350s where LT-1s ... TAZ

Re: Rocker Arm Studs?

Factory studs in 1970 are 3/8-24...not 7/16-14 right? 7/16 is a upgrade from B/B.

Re: Rocker Arm Studs?

I may be wrong on this -- but the experts will chime in ... I believe the studs are 7/16 into the head and 3/8 for the rocker nuts ... TAZ
