COPO Chevelle Motor
Looking to see if anyone here knows if this car still exists before a buddy that owns it puts it into a drag car. Story I got is that it was from a Scuncio car that got wrecked and engine was transplanted into a GTO where my buddies brother pulled it out of in the 70's.
Know it's a longshot but the vin is 136379B383940. I did a Google search of the vin and got nothing. Thanks, Chris https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...427_engine.jpg |
Re: COPO Chevelle Motor
Checked my list and didn't have any info on this chevelle, added in case it shows up in the future. Should be a 05D build. Thanks for posting the pic. hope it turns up. take care, Andy

Re: COPO Chevelle Motor
I would not put that block in a race car. I would use a truck block.Stuff is to hard to find. Hope the car is still around.

Re: COPO Chevelle Motor
Save the block, it's like money in the bank. It could work in another COPO Chevelle or Camaro that lost its block.

Re: COPO Chevelle Motor
I'm with chuck and others on this one. I think this would be a super cool block to have. Heck I'm tempted to one up chuck!

Re: COPO Chevelle Motor
Just thought I should post that the original intention of my post was not to get a buzz going to try and hype the block and then put it up for sale. At this point, the only way my friend who has it would entertain parting with it is to whoever happens to own the car that it came out of and that was through a lot of nudging on my part to try and reunite a really cool motor with its original engine bay.
He has had this motor in his family since the 70's and had no intention of ever selling it. I was and still am hoping the original car still exists so this engine could get reunited with the original car. I know if I had a car that was missing it's original engine I would hope that if someone found it's original block that they would allow it to be put back where it belongs! Thanks, Chris |
