Possibly reunite a 71/72 Chevelle Motor
I just bought a 72 Chevelle that ill probably end up parting out. Its got a period correct CLB suffix which code be for a Chevelle/Camaro/Monte Carlo. I figured id post the partial VIN to see if the car might be out there.....

----Buddy,,,You should be correct, but I dont think Chevrolet built 71,227 Corvettes in 71 or 72. I dont have the figures in front of me but that sounds like way too many.......Bill S

----I have to make a correction as I have just actually looked up the numbering system for 72 Vettes. The whole system was changed from 71. The first 72 built had a serial number
1Z37K2S500001. The last 72 made had a serial number 1Z37K2S527004. I was assuming that the 72 ID numbers followed the 71 method which was in place for many years. The engine number mentioned has a 1 after the S.....Bill S |
