'61 Biscayne 4 door wiw?
Not muscle per se, but I am looking for an opinion on what the entry level (parts car) value is of this car? Solid and complete with little rust. Straight plain Jane no frills car. 6 cyl. 3 on tree. (Engine/ trans out of car presently cause guy was going to v8 car. Rockers , trunk very solid. I have not looked underneath (returning with jack to inspect). There is a homemade screwed in patch where accel. Pedal is. Grille and bumpers are very nice. What should I look for as problem areas?

Front fenders, right above the headlights, for one. Mine were rusted through on an Alabama car, even though the majority of the rest of the car was solid.

BB, On '61s, the problem areas are the front edges of the front fenders and around the headlights, and the rear body mounts (above the rear axle). Check in the trunk behind them for rusted areas. Biscaynes came with rubber floor mats which led to condensation and most floors rusted out.
A 4dr sedan has the "porch roof" overhanging the rear window. The drip channel at the back is usually done for. Difficult repair. Verne |
$2000 or so maybe more.
A local gal has a original paint, low mileage 65 Dodge Dart 4 door. 6 banger with super mint original interior.. Truly and Grandma car. down to $2000 and no takers. More doors are more doors. |
Might be interested as I'm looking for a parts car for a 61 Convertible I'm working on.

It would be a great parts car for somebody to save a 2-door. For what it's worth, I looked at a 20,XXX mile survivor a few years back that was already starting to rust above the headlights.
