first gen Camaro rocker spears

I know this has been discussed before, but I suck at searches on this site.

Camaro Central has what they claim to be NOS rocker spears. $360 a pair. They have a 13% discount right now, but I am not sure it applies to this part. Ad says there are excluded parts.

Mine are pretty beat up, and don't do the rest of my car justice. Is there a repop brand out there that is indistinguishable from the original? I know there are at least two manufacturers and maybe three.

Camaro Central also has a repop molding for $70 a pair, that they claim: "These have been designed to match the original in every detail." May be word smithing, as DESIGNED TO MATCH and actually MATCHING are two different things.

Anyone with personal experience with the Camaro Central parts?

Anyone with personal experience with any other repop, good or bad?

Thanks in advance.

Shawn Greene is a stand up guy. Will back anything he sells no questions. I would give CC a good endorsement on all things Camaro. They have branched out to Chevelle too.

I think I remember someone making really good repos.

I remember seeing a statement to the effect: "They are making such a good repro that some are selling them as NOS."

curious as well on the nos ones from CC. When i finished my sliver Z i ended up buying real nos ones, as i was not sure about their claim.....unpackaged from the orig vendor etc?

I do have other early repop moldings from a stash of parts i bought yrs back and the spears are pretty thin and seem to dent easily.

looking forward to more info on this

I would, except; they are dinged pretty good, and it would take several hours to get all the dings out, and 2; they were not polished. They are anodized aluminum. They can be polished, but will dull with time.

This may help ? I think I used a set of CHQ or OER ? Not 100% sure, and they were not to bad. Here are some shots I got off the interweb. Whatever you use kiss the high spots with a file at the front and back.

Given the quality and cost (??) of the repops.....what might NOS G.M's be fetching on EBAY ???? ( I need to look but think I have a pair)

enio45 10-18-2017 09:34 PM

300 to 400 range

nos ones has the metal strip with them for the mounting as well as the screws.

350 on avg is fair
