Here's a link to a 2009 Mecum St.Charles sale ad for the car... https://www.mecum.com/lots/CH1009-87...chevrolet-z28/ Also, I have a faded old '67 Z-28 pic w/ hard to read Steakley Chev' painted on the sides saved somewhere on my other system. Not sure which Steakley dealership it was from as there were at least 3, the Temple location was Dan Steakley a cousin of the Steakley Bros. Again, it's saved on my other system so unless you have the same one already, I'll post it sometime later tonight. :beers: ~ Pete . |
Jonesy yes its a Red car. Pete Id love to see the picture you have if you can find it. Does anyone know David Ellis on the site or when his handle is?

Check in w/ Member ORIGLS6 Dennis as he's mentioned being in contact w/ Dave Ellis here in past threads. I'll find the Steakley sponsored '67 Z28 pic and post it tonight! :beers: ~ Pete . |
I know a Dave Ellis, but last time I talked to him,he was in a wheelchair here in Illinois and owned and sold this L-78 1970 Chevelle Convertible.
https://azure.barrett-jackson.com/Ev...ERTIBLE-162034 I didn't think he's the same Dave E. being discussed here. |
David Ellis goes by Alabamcam on the Team Camaro site. The Steakley car was owned by Chris Cadwallader in Ohio and he's the one who did a quickie resto on it.

Here's the '67 pic mentioned above, again fuzzy but reads Steakley Chevrolet on the sides and more. Sure wish the pic was better as looking closely, even the deck stripes appear like someone's shadow?:dunno: Maybe it's a known picture but one indicator it could be from Dan Steakley's Temple dealership is cars sponsored by one of the other Steakley operations would have probably had Steakley Bros. or Steakley Chevytown on the sides like Kelly Chadwick's cars did, not Steakley Chevrolet?:hmmm: :beers: ~ Pete . |
My 68 Impala L72 project was sold used through Dan Steakley early in its life. It still has the worn out mylar sticker on the trunk lid. It says
Dan Steakley Chevrolet “Best Deals in Texas” Temple Texas. I can send you a picture of it if you’re interested. |
